Contracts Administrator

Rhino Asphalt Solutions is a market leader in highway maintenance, contracting unique proprietary patching and repair products to resolve everyday problems. We have an annual turnover of around £10 million working for Local Authorities and National Highways Contractors on the motorway, trunk road and local highway networks. Our head office function is based in East Sussex with operational teams in Kent and Staffordshire with national contracting coverage.

We have an opening for a full-time Administrator at our depot in Sheerness, Kent.  The role will be to support the Operations Manager, Operations Supervisor and operational teams to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This is a key role as it directly influences our ability to deliver on our promises and ensure a smooth-running contracting operation.

You will be part of a small team focused on running the contracting operation. At the office you will be part of a team of people all dedicated to giving great customer satisfaction.

The specific tasks for this role are:

·       Ordering materials and deliveries to our UK depots

·       Direct liaison with customers regarding programming works

·       Following the Health & Safety, QA, & Environmental accreditations in place

·       Arranging plant hire, materials, and traffic management

·       Booking accommodation for the crews

·       Maintaining stock levels at depots

·       Plant and equipment hire

·       Managing vehicle and plant maintenance schedules and bookings

·       Making up contract files and supplying information to the client

Experience

The successful candidate may well have a mixture of both vocational experience and academic certification. So it could be that someone with Business or Construction qualifications would be interested but equally, experience in the sector would make qualifications less of a requirement.

Ideally, we would like to employ someone with knowledge of highways or construction with experience of working alongside stringent health and safety regulations. The ability to follow procedure is imperative but also the desire to deliver great service, do a good job, be helpful and contribute to a team result. Previous training in IOSH Working or Managing Safely would be advantageous but not essential.

We are of course heavily invested in IT so knowing your way around Microsoft products and systems is a must.

You will need to be numerate, literate, accurate and possess excellent telephone and communication skills.

A grasp of the implications of decisions you make on the safety and well-being of our teams working in live traffic environments is fundamental to the role.

Full training and support will be given.

Culture

Rhino has a culture of a family business that is on the move. Growth is on the agenda but so is being part of the team, or the herd as we affectionately call it. We have a culture of support alongside a culture of action and getting the job done. If you can demonstrate these attributes to us, then you could be the one. To work at Rhino is a rewarding and valued experience. The staff churn is low, and our people highly value the environment in which they work.

So, if you fit the description or some part of it, we would like to hear from you. Please submit a cover letter/introduction to tell us why you think you are right for the role, and we will guarantee to read your CV.
