Ironbridge
The birthplace of the industrial revolution, Ironbridge, was struggling to cope with modern day weather phenomenon. The Iron Bridge was the first of its kind, erected in 1779 and is now a world-famous industrial monument. But, in February 2020, the gorge was battered by high winds and severe flooding causing significant damage. Following extensive investigation work, Telford & Wrekin Council and the Environment Agency set in place plans to reinforce and improve flood defenses in the town which included using the well reputed Ironmasterâ„¢ system to reconstruct the Ironwork on the Wharfage.
Over the course of eight days Rhino crews carried out full reconstruction to the following items:
- 29 Single Manholes, 3 Double Manholes and 2 Triple Manholes
- 23 Valve Boxes
- 11 Gullys and 1 Double Gully
